Two Silent Giants of the Frassino Oasis

Featured in Mantovani’s Book

Two silent giants of the Frassino Oasis featured in Le Radici del Gusto

Nuntio vobis gaudium magnum: The two majestic pear trees of the Frassino Oasis – most likely of the Mirandino Rossovariety – have officially been included in “Le Radici del Gusto”, the newly released guidebook by Carlo Mantovani, published by Officine Gutenberg. A well-deserved recognition for a hidden gem of the Lake Garda area.

After four years of research and over 150 trips, Mantovani created an innovative tourism concept: dendrogastronomic itineraries – journeys that combine monumental trees with local gastronomic excellence. The result is a passionate, unconventional travel diary that invites readers to rediscover authenticity and slow-paced living, away from mass tourism routes.

Among the featured stops is the Frassino Lake, a rich and biodiverse natural area near Peschiera del Garda, where the ancient pear trees stand like silent guardians of a unique ecosystem. Living monuments of time and nature, they now take their rightful place in the narrative of the land.

The book is published by Officine Gutenberg, a social cooperative based in Piacenza, where young people with special needs are actively involved in the bookbinding and publishing process. An added value for a project that combines sustainability, culture, and inclusion.

So here’s an invitation: walk the trails of the Oasis, pause under the great trees, and listen to their stories. Because – as Mantovani says – “Follow the great trees, and you’ll end up in great places.”
