The Garda D.O.P. (Protected Designation of Origin) extra virgin olive oil is made from olives grown at the northernmost latitude in the world thanks to the presence of nearby Lake Garda, which creates a Mediterranean microclimate in these hills overlooked by the Alps.
Therefore, the Garda D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil is a unique oil obtained thanks to a special process; after harvesting, the olives are placed in boxes allowing the air to circulate, and are only pressed after resting 24-48 hours.
The Garda D.O.P. extra virgin olive oil has unique organoleptic characteristics: a deep golden-green colour thanks to the high chlorophyll content, and a rich full taste that lingers on the palate. Although this is a delicate, slightly fruity oil, it is suitable for use in a wide variety of dishes.
This fine product is also rich in oleic acid, vitamin E and has a maximum acidity of 0.5, which makes it a superb ingredient for beauty treatments.
